PV solar panels

Solar energy may be there for anyone to take advantage of but how do we turn it into electrical energy? PV solar panels that will convert sunshine into electricity can be attached to your roof or walls. Each cell is made from one or two layers of semi conducting material, usually silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers. The stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced.

The cells convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run household appliances and lighting. Due to the growing demand for renewable sources of energy, manufactures of solar cells and photovoltaic systems has advanced dramatically in recent years. They are now more efficient, thinner, lighter and cheaper than older ones. Some transparent panels are now available for aesthetic reasons. Production has also started to pick up.
