I was born in 1970, the start of the decade that launched disco. My childhood years were spent in the 70s and my teen years were wasted on the 80s. I have always enjoyed looking at photos of houses and fashion during the 70s. I realize that some of the quirky designs today are inspired by retro furniture. The butterfly chair for instance which seems so chic was actually a trend back in the 70s.

The butterfly chair is a folding chair that you will usually see in the lounge, the porch or the backyard. It’s called a butterfly chair because the seat goes up a little on the sides. The seat shape resembles a butterfly. The cloth seat can even be changed to different colors and materials. The butterfly chair also comes in different sizes.
