The materials used to make hammocks are sturdy enough to bear the brunt even of heavyweights. However, being exposed to sun and rain can weaken the fibers. Eventually it will wear off and cause danger to the user. To prevent this, fold your hanging hammock chair and keep it in a special storage bag. You don’t have to do this every time, but only if you don’t intend to use it for a while.
First timers find it hard to climb in and out of the hammock. There are funny (hopefully, not painful) incidents of falling off or unintentionally moving oneself into weird positions. Some people lie in a hammock stretched out lengthwise. Others prefer a crosswise position. The best way to lie in a hammock, however, is in a slanting position. You are more in control of your balance and it is easier to climb in and out.
