Our company’s head honcho was finally retiring and the company wanted to give a party to celebrate it. He refused anything lavish though, and said he would rather have a simple lunch in the cafeteria. He also insisted on removing the tributes, but the management team was able to convince him to hold a small program.

The various departments all agreed to give him gifts, most of which were garden accessories. The boss had a green thumb, and it was his idea to have indoor plants in the office as well as on all the window bays. Having plants in the office helped a lot to lighten the mood apart from making the office look really clean and lively. That said, it was only appropriate that we indulge him in his favorite hobby as he retires.
