Extend the Life of Your Cantilevered Umbrella

One thing to consider when choosing a shade for your patio or pool is to make sure that it is strong enough to withstand wind and rain. Make sure that the rod is strong enough to carry the weight of the frame and fabric. The better cantilevered umbrella will have an aluminum constructed frame with crank lift operation for easy management. It should have multiple tilt positions. Inspect the material used for the canopy and check if it looks like it will be able to stand wear and tear.
Choose a cantilevered umbrella with replaceable parts. This means that you can continue using the shade if some parts break instead of just throwing the whole thing away. If you can find one that has a replaceable canopy then that will be a bonus because with the sun beating down on it, it is bound to fade soon enough. These fixtures can be expensive. However, if you take the extra effort by doing some simple maintenance work on it, like oiling movable parts, you can enjoy basking in the shade of your umbrella on sunny days.
