Dreary Winter Garden?

Did you spend the winter longing for the beauty of your spring garden. If you found your yard a sad place this fall and winter a little planning for next year might change that. You want to make your yard a place you can enjoy through the seasons, not just half of them.

Here are a few simple things you can do to make those chillier months gorgeous and pleasant.

Plan for color for the other two seasons. There are some great plants out there that can add a cheeriness to your yard after all the green has faded away.

Display your Art around your deck and give it a festive air. Large pots of fountain grass are marvelous, even when dead. Snowy landscapes are given interest with decorative pots full of brown grasses blowing in the wind. Bare arbors add interest, especially if you add tiny lights! Statues and fountains take on a new look when the green is gone. Enjoy the difference! The teacup and other bird feeders are even more important come Winter, when birds really need the seed. Little birds coming to feed in the colder months are a true delight!
Leave something to sit on out there! And, if icy cold weather does not please you, consider buying a Mexican chiminea that you can light for warmth. Great for marshmallows, too! And remember S’Mores? ~smile~ Why stay inside looking out over dreariness when you can create beauty to focus on? Nature gives us all the basics!
