Protect Valuable Livestock

Many ranches have large expanses of land where cattle can roam freely. Sometimes, it can’t be helped that cattle herds of one ranch would become mixed up with those of another ranch’s. Don’t lose track of your valuable property. Aside from branding your cattle with identifying marks, keep cattle sorting sticks handy for easy sorting.
Sorting sticks have paddle ends used to shepherd cattle into designated areas. A keen understanding of cattle behavior is needed for successful sorting. For example, handlers have to stay outside of the cattle’s comfort zone such as a distance of 300 feet in order to get them to move without getting spooked. By setting himself outside this comfort zone, a handler will better help influence the cattle’s movement.
