Flowers in CansYour neighborhood supermarket is chocked full of flowering blossoms and bulbs this season, and I’m a big fan of putting them in all types of uplifting seasonal displays.  They aren’t just easy to find and gorgeous; they’re inexpensive, too, and are arrangeable in lots of unique displays.  Stop by your neighborhood supermarket’s flower department and give this cool affordable idea a shot!

Garden DecorI’ve always been challenged by decorating.  Inside the house and out, I’m completely lost when it comes to aesthetics.  I need to have my hand held every step of the way.  Whether it’s a wind chime or a painting, I can’t put two and two together.  Luckily, my wife takes over and manages to get all of this stuff on her own.  She’s a lot better at it than I am and she really enjoys working in the yard, especially when the seasons change and it starts getting warmer.

Thankfully for both of us she’s finally found an affordable place to buy all of her garden decor.  I know if she went to the local retail places, even the bargain superstores likwe KMart, we’d be spending a fortune.  Even though those places may be cheap when it comes to most everyday items, anything specialty is an arm and a leg.  This is definitely a great alternative!

It’s decorations in your garden. Non plant elements - “Garden Decor”.

Garden Decor is part of what makes your garden inviting, comfortable, interesting, enticing, unusual, perhaps hilarious, soothing, cherished and more!

There’s no place I prefer to be than in the garden. I work and relax in it, my daughter photographs it. We wander through it, dig our hands into it and we ENJOY it’s bounties while we are amazed at it’s complex nature and how the garden fills our senses completely. Sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste as well as our spiritual senses are all beguiled in the garden. Linger with us a bit as we saunter through the garden.

Garden décor doesn’t just come in pink flamingo, garden gnomes and fountains varieties. There are some great contemporary garden décor choices out there. They come in all shapes, sizes, flavors, and some are bordering on high art.

I’m necessarily talking about a bronze pelican but more along the lines of a well designed gazebo in gorgeous wood, the classic Adirondack chair, or a classic aluminum lawn chair.

Wanna spruce up your yard but on a budget. Don’t let that stop you from showcasing all your green. Make sure to pull the weeds and rake the leaves. You can then use one of these great ideas to add a special something to your outdoor oasis.

  • Tip a flowerpot (any size) over and have soil spill out of it. Plant flowers in the soil for a charming spilled pot look.
  • Make a rustic trellis by nailing or screwing branches together in desired shape.

Think that improving the look of your home and garden requires too much time and money? It doesn’t have to. Here are 6 easy ways to spruce up the appearance of your home. These solutions won’t cost a fortune and won’t take long to complete, but it will look like they did!

STEP 1: CREATE AN OASIS FOR BIRDS

Create a great focal point in the front or backyard while providing a haven for birds. This is one of simplest and least expensive ways to fashion a great yard accent. An elegant birdbath can be placed in any corner of the yard, ideally under a small to medium size tree. Select a matching bird feeder to hang from the tree to complement the birdbath. Plant a small patch of annuals or perennials around the base of the birdbath to complete the design and voilà! It’s an instant focal point for your landscape and a gathering place for your favorite song birds - all in a matter of minutes.

Using Bulbs in Your Landscaping

Naturalized bulbs look beautiful in a wooded setting. You can plant them and leave them to multiply. After the bulbs bloom the foliage will die down, but you can interplant bulbs with ground covers for a carefree and beautiful garden.

For a natural look you should arrange your bulbs informally. If you toss them and plant them where they land, with small adjustments for spacing, it’ll look much better than if you arrange them.
