When I was a kid my favorite movie was Peter Pan. I liked Peter Pan but I was more fascinated with Tinkerbelle. She flew so fast you can barely see her. My dad told me that there were birds like that. He said Tinkerbelle reminded him about a hummingbird. At that time, I didn’t know what he was talking about. I haven’t seen a bird that small that can flap its wings really fast and can fly backwards. We tried looking for hummingbirds in our neighborhood the next day. We also bought a hummingbird feeder and installed it in our backyard.

After a couple of days, we saw a hummingbird eating or slurping sugared water from our hummingbird feeder. It was an amazing sight. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I did not know birds can fly backwards or hover for that long. They do indeed look like fairies.
