Some birds like to perch high up on trees. Putting a bird house on top of an 8 feet pole will be welcoming to these species of birds. It serves as a resting place as well as a lookout. They are at home with the set-up and are also protected from roaming predators such as cats and snakes. Now they don’t have to perch on power lines.
There are many different kinds of birdhouse pole designs. Described below are just a few such designs:
~Porch style: Classic pattern with square posts at the top and bottom, with eye pleasing curves in between. The same pattern is also available pre-painted in white.
~Beaded Flutes: Between the square top and bottom, this post is marked with rounded vertical elements that create an effect like bundled sticks.
~Rope Style: The middle of this post is covered with a spiraling pattern like coiled rope.
~4-Sided Taper: This post slims down as it narrows from the base to the top.
~8-Sided Taper: This post also slims down as it narrows from the base to the top.
