Fixing up a home for your flying friends should be easy if you’ve got the right materials. Let’s start with the birdhouse poles. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the birdhouse pole should be the strongest material since support for the entire structure rests on it.
The usual kinds of poles are the mounting pole and a pole with a shepherd’s hook. The mounting pole is best for houses for wrens and martins, while the latter is used for birds that can be housed in cages. A telescoping pole can help you adjust the bird house to the desired height, as well as allow you to lower it down so you can clean the birdhouse and replace food. These poles can be made from both wood and aluminum.
