hummingbird feeders

More often than not, hummingbirds are compared to the bees because they feed on nectar of plants and are important pollinators too. They asses the amount of sugar in the nectar they eat and reject flower types that produce nectar with lass than 10% sugar. Hummingbirds prefer plants with stronger sugar content. Though nectar is their main source of food, hummingbirds also take sugar water from artificial feeders.

A wide range of hummingbird feeders are now out in the market for sale. Especially when flowers are not in ‘bloom season’, feeders from the stores are easily available. It was also scientifically proven that the white granulated sugar is safe to use in the hummingbird feeders. As for the type, most feeders are made of plastic, glass, and/or ceramics.
